Where does your donation go?
Your gift pays for the everyday things that let older adults stay independent: door-to-door rides to medical appointments and the shops, weekly check-in calls from volunteers, holiday hampers, and our work developing safe, culturally informed Abbeyfield housing in Ottawa.
What did last year's giving achieve?
Through our annual raffle with Rhythm Movements, supporters funded full gift baskets for 10 seniors, hampers for 3 families, and $125 gift cards for a further 10 seniors and 3 families. Every one of those went to a household in our own community.
What are you aiming for this year?
This year our goal is larger: full gift baskets or hampers for up to 15 seniors and 10 families, and 20 gift cards distributed across both. Reaching it depends entirely on what supporters give.
Can I give my time instead of money?
Money is not the only way to help. Volunteers make our check-in calls, drive seniors to appointments, and pack hampers each holiday season. Email admin@floseniors.com or call 613-292-3375 and tell us what you would enjoy doing.
